What are some major themes in Life of Pi by Yann Martel?
Sunday, March 30th, 2008I already know that one theme is religion and another is being alone, but what are other ones? What does theme mean anyway and how could you explain each of them. Thanks.
A theme is an idea or view expressed by the author. It may or may not be repetitive or moralistic. This book has a lot of themes. Survival to me is the biggest one. Physical survival, mental survival. Survival at sea and survival in a civilized environment. “Survival of the fittest” all of that comes into play in this book. Which is excellent by the way.
